Buzzwell is the Dean of New Hive City's school, which appears to be a combination of elementary school, high school and college. He performed the graduation ceremony Barry and Adam attended.

He also works as a Job Placement advisor for Honex, listing which jobs are available. He likes to joke when listing the jobs. In response to the question of why availability of jobs changes so rapidly, he replied, "Well, whenever a bee dies, that's an opening. See that? He's dead, dead, another dead one, deady, deadified, two more dead. Dead from the neck up, dead from the neck down. But, that's life!"

Buzzwell also sometimes displays an uncaring attitude towards job applicants and can be in a hurry to get to the next applicant.

After the successful lawsuit against the honey industry, Buzzwell ordered the end of honey production in the hive due to no longer having enough room to store it.
